Blogging about cats...again

Im pretty pumped about this weekend coming up. First of all i dont get to see Erin as much as i'd like since she's pretty hardcore about school during the week. That leaves the weekend to go out and spend some time with her. This weekend we're going to see cats. Im pretty excited, its only my second time going to the theatre (the first time was just before Christmas when we went and saw A Christmas Carol). I think i left getting tickets a little too long and i think i may have gotten the very last tickets. We're seeing the very last performance in Calgary and our seats are wayyyyyy in the back. Apparently there are no bad seats, but i'll have to wait and see if that is clever marketing or a blatant lie. For A Christmas Carol, Erin and I were right up front... like second row, and it was neat to see all the characters right up close, hopefully the experience will be just as good on the second balcony. From all i heard Cats is supposed to be a great show and like i said im looking forward to it with great anticipation... i still think it could be a better show at close to zero gravity(see previous post... seriously its awesome!)

A Surprisingly Good Time

What did i do this weekend? I know you are all asking this yourselves, giddy with anticipation... eager to find out what nathan got up to this weekend... well i will tell you. I went and played some curling! Its an annual thing for the employees of BJ Services to do and so i got in on the action ... not the BJ Service action, i do that five days a week(how long can i keep the joke going?) but the curling action. Oh and it was INTENSE. My team, known as "Milks Gone Bad" showed up fashionably late... we had to stop for Bailies and coffee (not coffee and bailies.. that would imply more coffee than booze, and that just wasnt the case)... got no warm up, time and still managed to pull out a 9-1 victory over the course of the four end match. Following our round one victory, Milks Gone Bad went and had a victory jug of beer before we went and beat our second opponent 5-3. Even more pleased with ourselves we all agreed that another round of beers was in order. Then came the gold medal match that we squeaked out a 3-2 win ... phew too close for comfort and our nerves were a little shaky.... better have another beer or two. Curling is such an easy sport to make fun of, but is so fun to play especially when you win and even more so when your half licked.

What's in a name?

I recently bumped into this site and it just makes me laugh. Pretty much it's people writting into this guy to see what he thinks of names they have come up with for their kids, and he then responds as sarcastically as possible. I can understand the attraction to giving your child a unique name, but some people are just weird... they must ride the train.

Crazy Train People

Like i have stated in the past, i take the train to work. And really i dont mind taking it, it doesnt take too long and it saves me from rush hour traffic that i really dont like. But the people on the train can be pretty weird on occasion. Although i say crazy train people i think it applies to any form of public transit. Normally i bring my discman and my big "DJ style" headphones (i cant use the ear plugs because i've been physically abused in the ear) and just crank my music so i cant hear people talk and they are less likely to try to start up a conversation with me. Even if my batteries die i keep my headphones on to prevent fellow riders from talking to me. Today however i was discmanless... i had left it at the office on friday by accident so i was open to a conversation ambush. Sure enough some lady asked if she could sit beside me and i said sure and so she sat and she thanked me... i dont know why, the spot was empty it wasnt like i was hogging the seat or anything. Then she felt the need to tell me about why she was on the train (apparently she had a doctors appointment) Trying not to pry further details out of her i just kinda ignored her(should have played the "im asleep" card) So yeah she continued to ramble on about something or other and i got up because my stop was next... she then preceeded to thank me at least three more times for allowing her to sit in an unoccupied seat. Man train people can be weird... and gross... I also saw a guy sneeze into his hand and then just go back to holding onto the bar. Now im not a germ freak i dont mind holding onto the bar on the train but watching that made me remember to really wash my hands as soon as possible once off the train and not go ... oh i dont know.. eat popcorn first.

Mini Eggs

after viewing Dee's blog, i've realized i have not posted about one of my faverate things. Those darn Cadbury Mini Eggs. If you have not experienced these little pastel coloured treats you really dont know what your missing. There is however a problem. If you go to Mac's or Seven Eleven or better yet... Shoppers to buy some mini eggs you'll see this delemia. The "normal" bag size is far too small. I usually opt for the "family size" bag but do not share with my family. Seriously these little eggs are too addictive, i'd like to see someone open a bag and not polish it off in one sitting. What i have actually found interesting is that Cadbury has realized how powerful these little eggs are, and have made special Christmas edition mini eggs so people can fill their addiction throughout out the year.

Go Flames Go

Yesturday while working i was paged that i had someone one hold that wished to talk to me. I was curious to see who could possibly be calling me at work. To my surprise it was my girlfriends dad. He has a travel agency that does work for my company and is actually the one that pretty much got me the job that i have here at BJ services.... insert joke here: ________ kristen stop giggling! anyhoo, he had called me to see if i was interested in going to the flames game tonight. of course i was interested, it conflicts with my tuesday night dinner with the lobbsters and heather but i figured they would understand, because there is only one thing better than tuesday night dinners (which are quite amazing! Kirsten you're a great cook) and thats going to watch a hockey game, and the only thing better than watching a hockey game is a free hockey game and the only thing better than a free hockey game is a free hockey game that you get to sit in the third row and the only thing that would top that is if it were the oilers.... but i guess i cant get too picky. Actually i really like the flames and i cant wait for the game tonight. this is a shout out for those of you out in Ottawa ----> "GO FLAMES GO"

friday fun

So get this... everyday i, along with the other guys from my group at work go for coffee. good times. And being friday things are painfully slow so i get the extra large coffee. well i was talking to one of the guys in my group whilst enjoying my quite tasty cup of joe, when all of a sudden the bottom of my styrofoam cup gives way allowing the coffee to pour all over myself... luckily i had enjoyed two thirds of it before this all took place. So yeah, im at work wearing a coffee soaked shirt. crappy day right?? WRONG! i now know that i get to go shopping at lunch to purchase a new, non-coffee soaked shirt. I could have easily allowed incident to ruin a perfectly good friday... but no, a little shopping can fix anything! Hope your friday was just as good as mine, if it isnt maybe try pouring a cup of coffee all over yourself. Worked for me!!!

sorry.

Ah, what a great t-shirt! Apparently Jordan thinks this suits me... and well who am i to argue. Now instead of wasting precious time forming words to express my deep sorrow and regret for what i've done i can simply point to the shirt. So Stever i have taken your suggestion to take the picture and put it on my profile, now take a suggestion from me and kiss my little white butt.... okay i didnt mean that. sorry. (or for easy reference, just look at the shirt)
