Brrrr, its a little cold

Todays walk into work was a bit chilly. and by a bit i mean a lot. actually it wasnt that bad, but i need a scarf. Does anyone know of a cool place to buy scarves? Other than it being pretty darn cold in the city not a whole lot going on over here. oh, but i have a funny/somewhat gross story.

On the weekend i went to get a haircut. it turned out alright (i dont know if you could screw my hair up, i keep it pretty messy anyways) but afterwards i felt like having a coffee. Starbucks is right next door to my hair cutting place so i figured i'd just go there. I had my first Christmas coffee of the year (Eggnog Tazo Chai... delicious) anyways there was a bit of a line up to pay for drinks but the girls working were making the drinks as the people walked in. As i was waiting to pay, i noticed the guy at the register wasnt sounding too good, and obviously had some sort of head cold. as the guy in front of me was paying the cashier guy had to sneeze, and did the appropriate thing of sneezing into his elbow... however when he removed his face from his elbow he had an enormous amount of snot hanging from his cheek. the cashier guy was then like "i think im going to wash my hands" the guy in front of me replied totally seriously "please... might want to check your face too"

Complaining about complainers

and im one of them so dont think this is a "im good you're bad" kind of post (i've complained non-stop about my couch and recently complained about annoying escalator people) But really we are all a bunch of complainers. If left to it, we'd find something to complain about, about everything. If you want proof take a gander at the globe and mail website and read some peoples comments on any subject. We just had a company wide pay raise (which was of a significant amount) and to my surprise and disgust i heard a guy complaining about how it was long over due and not as much as he was expecting.

I dont know.. maybe complaining is necessary to continue evolution in all aspects of life, after all no one will improve something that no one thinks should be improved.

how do you know that you lead a boring life??

A couch starts to become the focus of your blog. I hope that this will be the second to last post about THE COUCH. there should be only this post, where i state that i've been contacted by the warehouse in calgary to let me know my couch is in the city and to set up a date where they can deliver my couch and coffee table.. and then finally the post about it arriving and how comfy it is and how i dont need to sit on the floor. Hopefully there will not be any additional postings about this stupid couch such as how they accidentally broke my couch in the warehouse and have to get a new one made... or how they were just kidding about it being in the city, or even a post about how when they delivered the couch it was the wrong colour and had to be sent back. Hopefully it will not come down to that... plus im missing a tuesday night dinner to have them deliver it, so it better come!!

escalators

i dont like them. actually i have nothing against escalators just the people that ride them. actually not even all people that ride them just the ones that stand on them from the bottom to the top and take up the entire width of the thing with their body so you cant pass... yes those people i do not like.

first of all the escalator in my building 87% of the time does not work (im pretty sure its purely run on hamster power and they have to replace the hamsters every week or so) and when a escalator breaks down it becomes stairs... and i think i would prefer stairs. when did we get so lazy that we need to take a break for 30 seconds and have something lift us a couple dozen stairs. and its not like handicapped people ride them... there is an elevator right near by for those who cant manage the escalator ( no stairs near by or id take those) argh. my little pet peeve for the day.

That's Craptastic!

I moved into my condo on September 15th. On the same day i went and purchased my couch and coffee table. On that day they told me it would be 6-10 weeks. Later that same day i got a phone call from the store saying the fabric that i wanted was on back order and that it would push the date i'd get my couch back a week. Okay thats fine.

A couple days ago i got a call from the manager of the store telling me that its going to be 4-5 more weeks.. ah crap. apparently the factory that makes the furniture has its workers make one style of couch for 3 weeks or so then switches it up and does another style for awhile. because of the fabric backorder i missed my rotation. Just another reason why im looking forward to december.
