Last day of work for awhile

Today is my last day of work for a few weeks. Im using a flex day to get tommarow off, next week im back in BJ school taking another course and then after that im heading to the coast with Steve and Jenn to do a little kayaking and camping. I cannot tell you how excited i am!! First, Steve and Jenn are pretty fun people to hang out with.(if you've never done it you should give it a try) Second, i love being outside getting all tanned enjoying beautiful sights and third, i have not been camping for such a long time, and it has to be one of my favorite things to do in the summer. The only down side to not working for a few weeks is that it really cuts down on my blogging time. Ha Ha, im kidding of course (well not really) but this may be my last post for a few weeks, maybe i'll post again next week from home if something super exciting happens, we will see. Later Suckers.

ps. i hope i see an orca while kayaking... i'll have to ask steve if they are where we are going to be.

Half the fun of blogging is getting comments from friends and family, and i even enjoy getting random comments from people i dont know who have stumbled upon my blog somehow. Today i got an email alerting me that someone had added a comment to one of my posts. it read:

Something else to ponder...If a cat is thrown out onto the street...is is considered "kitty litter"?

now i kinda wished that when you get an email alert it would tell you which post that person is commenting about, after not too much searching i realized it was the post with the cat in space. Who ever wrote that comment, you are now officially my favorite anonymous commenter ever.

coming for a visit

My brother steve and sister in law Jenn are coming for a visit. I always get pretty excited when they come because they live in china... not exactly a hop, skip and a jump away. We only get to see them for a couple weeks out of the year and the time always flies when they are in the city. Its weird to think that this time last year i was over in china visiting them... thats when i needed a blog i could have told a story everyday. well here are some pics from my travels in china...from last year.

Small portion of downtown Shanghai... not rush hour

Chinese in their everyday clothing.... while working at Taco Bell Grande

The great wall of China

Terracotta Warriors

Looking Hot on a tandom bike on the city wall of Xi'an

Beautiful Yungshou (sp?) 35 degrees 100% humidity loved every minute of it.

what would you do?

Yesturday i was coming home on the Deerfoot from rugby practice and had to suddenly slam on the brakes. no accident or anything but there was a car pulled over to the left hand side right by the concrete median. as i passed the car i looked over (it was a cute girl) and noticed that right in front of the car there was a momma duck and her little chicks (they were pretty cute too!) it became obvious that this girl didnt want anyone to hit the ducks as they walked along ... as i drove past on my way home i kept thinking about it, how long would she protect these ducks... they had no way of getting off the road (concrete barrier that goes on and on and on) . i began to think of what i would have done or should have done as i passed the car. and another thought came into mind... how long have these ducks been walking? at some point they had to have managed to cross the deerfoot.

silly little post but i keep on thinking about those little ducks so i had to write about it.
