Defending Ben Mulroney

So last night i was watching canadian idol. I only watch the beginning shows to see the singers that really believe they can sing when they (like myself) really cannot. It was during watching the show that i started to pay attention to ben mulroney. I know most of you think he's a nerd and a loser and a horrible host but really i dont mind him. Sure he's a little stiff and i can even agree on him being a little geeky but i personally think that helps him be a better host. He has even gotten a little funnier since last season and made me laugh out loud a couple times last night. The first time was when he was commenting during on girls performance saying she sang like " an angel.... a tone deaf angel"

So to sum up, im defending Ben Mulroney because i think he is a great host for canadian idol, sure he's a dork, but who isnt? He doesnt try to steal the show or make it all about him. I couldnt think of anyone else who could do a better job.

Im a little slow

For you that know me it probably isnt a shock that sometimes im a little slow on the up-take. There have been times when i laugh (or at least shake) uncontrollably at something someone said only to find out they were being serious. Or take something someone is saying seriously when they are joking around. Argh, i feel so stupid when someone catches me on it and have to fill me in that they were only kidding... then i try to act cool and tell them that i knew that they were and that i was just joking along with them. Whats worse is that with instant messaging and blogs its even harder to figure out if someone is being sarcastic or not... if you have the same problem as me, just know that i joke around 95 percent of the time and if you catch me during the other 5% dont blink because i'll be back being a goof in no time... well thats all for now, i have work to do... pfft its friday im totally kidding

actually im kidding that i was kidding i really do have work to do.

Weekend Update with ... well ... me.

I took thursday and friday off work last week to go to edmonton for a rugby tourny. Personally i think its crazy trying to complete a national club tournament in four days but thats what happened. four games in four days and our team won all four!!! but we finished third. it came down to points for and against along with bonus points to see what team went to play for 1st and 2nd and who went to play for 3rd and 4th. We were happy enough to have gone undefeated at the national tournament and beat a team from BC (they get to play all year round) in the bronze medal match. For such an exciting weekend this sure was a boring post, i'll try to add some extra pazazz to some future postings.

skirt season!

right off the bat i'd like to direct you here because im sure to offend someone with this post.

A few years back Steve and I went to Jack Astors for lunch. It was the first week of nice weather and we were both enjoying the fact that we could wear shorts and sandles. After our meal (where im sure we acted like idiots) we left the resturant to go and do something... (probably to go to the Tronsgards to play cards with Faye and Randy) and steve asked me "You know what the best part of Summer is?" i dont think he expected me to reply with an answer, but i responded "Girls in tanktops?!" to which steve agreed and that it beat his answer of being able to close your car door by grabbing through the open window. Good times!

and again that season is upon us!! skirt and tank top season that is. I think everyone can appriciate a nice relaxing walk down stephen ave. during lunch hour and enjoy the "scenery".

Common Summer!!!! No whammies!

I may be a little quick on the draw saying that summer seems to have arrived but with a couple mid-twenty degree days in the forecast and consistent short and flip-flop weather for the past few weeks im going to take the chance to say that YES in fact summer is here.

Another good clue that summer is here are the outdoor sports that are in full swing. As you know Rugby is up and going and im also playing soccer on Mondays with fellow BJers?... BJians? meh! The good thing is that with all the physical activity im starting to get into shape again... not only endurance wise but also in the "walking wounded" shape as well. The first thing Sue said to me at church on sunday was "Rugby must have started" i was like...umm yup it has... and she replied "i could tell because of all the scrapes and bruises on your legs".

Ahh, yes already with only a few games played this year, my body is covered in bruises, scrapes and cuts... not to mention a broken finger from this past weekend. Im kinda disappointed though, if im going to get knicked up and feel sore everyday i would like something substantial to show for it... like a huge navy blue bruise that covers half my back. so far everything is relatively small and not worthy to post... the finger came close it is pretty swollen and i did take a picture of it but it just looks like i took a picture of my hand so i didnt bother up-loading it.

I head to Edmonton this weekend for a rugby tournament and will play 4 games in 4 days... im sure to have some good pictures come monday! Speaking of Edmonton.. arent the oilers awesome? speaking further about Edmonton... doesnt the city suck?! ahh the joys of being a Calgarian Oilers fan... best of both worlds.

I am so happy, and have so little to complain about. Great weather, Long weekend full of rugby and the Oilers a game away from the conference finals NO WHAMMIES!

well, when you put it that way...

it seems everyone is putting quotes in their blogs, and as much as i like to be unique and cutting edge i couldnt pass up posting a quote i read on TSN.ca. This from a guy in Major League Baseball that threw his bat at the umpire and was just suspended 50 games for it.

"No, I really don't think I have anger management issues, I'm competitive. I just let the emotions get a little better than me sometimes. I've got to control that." --Delmon Young

Now im no genious (i know, i too was shocked when i found out) but isnt not being able to control or "manage" your emotions such as... oh i dont know... lets say anger, the same as having anger management issues.

the guys makes an impressive argument, seriously who's going to disagree with a guy that throws bats.

for your posting pleasure.

i think im going to remove that word verification thingy that you have to do everytime you want to post something. Its pretty annoying and i dont believe that if i take it down swarms and swarms of spam postings will come... and if they do, well im interested to see what they will say.

Speaking of the word verification thingy, does anyone else try to pronounce it? If you've ever played trivial pursuit with me you know im not a master of saying difficult words... and man does the word verification thingy throw out some tough ones. xjjsiwb??? what the heck is that?
