Most inspirational thing I've seen in awhile

Check out this little clip!! its about a dad that takes his disabled son with him while he does an Ironman. For those of you who dont know, an Ironman is 4km of swimming followed by a 180km bike ride followed by a marathon (42.2km running)

30 days till i get the keys.

So yes i have finally been approved for my mortgage and now just have to work out some last minute things with the real estate agent and the lawyer (my entourage is growing) to work out and sign then its just a waiting game until the possession date.

So far i am the only one that has seen my place and people are interested in seeing what i have purchased. People, like my parents. Thing is they go on vacation just before i gain possession and wont see it until they get back... hopefully i can get relatively settled in before they return.


Im getting a good taste of the cost of living on your own, all the little things that you take for granted when they have been provided for you your entire life... its all about needs and wants. The NEED list actually isnt that long, stuff like glasses, knives, food, towels, cleaning supplies etc. but the WANT list more than makes up for it: couch, bar stools, tv, coffee table etc. Little by little i will get the things i need and then i can have some fun and start going for some of the things i want.

Apparently!

I went out with my real estate agent today to go look at some homes and i guess things went pretty well. We went and looked at about a dozen places and a few really stood out. You know things are pretty stupid when your agent actually makes the comment "Wow this place has been the market for 10 days, i wonder whats wrong with it" None the less after we had looked at all the places he asked me if i wanted to make an offer on any of them.... so i did. And after about 20 minutes of negotiating i had myself a deal!!

The place is pretty small only about 550 sq feet but that suits me just fine. The whole place has been redone, new floors new paint new bathroom new kitchen. Even the building is getting renovated... hopefully that will be done in the near future. The little condo is right near downtown so i'll be able to walk to work.

AHHH this is too crazy, in a month i'll be on my own... scary.

Long time no post.

So yeah since Stampede not a whole lot has gone on. I've been doing the ol' work thing, playing some x-box 360 and pretty much just keeping things real. Not too much worthy enough to post about.. and posting about having nothing to post about gets old fast. But in the last week some excitement HAS started to take place.

I bought plates.

seriously! Caban was having a closing out sale so i stocked up, and since i had the plates i decided i should have a home to match. soooooooooo.......

I have a real estate agent, and a mortgage broker.(after they help me buy a place, we're going to drive around in a van and fight crime) Thats right i've decided to grow up a little bit and move out. Not just move out but buy myself a home. My mother has actually been holding in her excitement quite well, but i can still see the sparkle in her eye and can tell thats she's already imagining what she's going to do to my room.

anyhoo, thats my excitement hopefully if everything goes right i'll have everything taken care of in a month or two... but it is calgary so who knows how it will go.
